Aqua Blanket For Building Code

The Florida Building Code, Energy Conservation (2014) (below) requires some type of pool cover be used in order to pass building inspection. Some Florida locales accept Aqua Blanket as a suitable liquid cover to meet this code.

Outdoor heated swimming pools and outdoor permanent spas shall be equipped with a vapor-retardant cover on or at the water surface or a liquid cover or other means proven to reduce heat loss.

Exception: Where more than 70 percent of the energy for heating, computed over an operating season, is from site-recovered energy such as from a heat pump or solar energy source, covers or other vapor-retardant means shall not be required.

Metal Gone for Hard Surfaces

You know Metal Gone as the solution to removing metal stains in swimming pools. When metals appear in excess amounts they can adhere to the pool surface, requiring a metal sequestrant be added to the water to bind them until they are safely filtered out.

Metal Gone is also capable of removing stains from hard surfaces:

Apply Metal Gone full strength to a cloth and rub directly on hard surfaces, such as steel ladders or PVC pipes, etc. to remove the metal stain.
Metal Gone can also remove scale buildup on glass tiles and adjacent grout positioned behind water features. These often develop a hard, white film on them (scale) that Metal Gone will remove.

Lo-Phos® Max Useful Tips

Algae needs phosphates. When phosphates are removed from pool water, algae loses the food it needs to grow. Lo-Phos Max provides the strongest liquid phosphate remover in the pool chemicals industry.

Follow directions and pay attention to these key points:

When pouring Lo-Phos Max into the pool, make sure you fully disperse the product throughout the pool so it mixes thoroughly with pool water and works most effectively. Do not pour the dosage all in one area (slug dose).
As the formula begins working, wait a full 24 HOURS. In some pools the actual phosphate level can be above the maximum reading of a test kit or test strip. In those cases, multiple doses may be necessary to measure a reduction.
